One of the main enemies of the modern human being is the stress and it can come in various forms and shapes to ruin our lives. But don’t worry, I have created a list of 10 tips to battle stress effectively and therefore both raise the quality of your life and its length. So read on to find out how to win the battle against stress in 10 easy steps!
1. Breakfast with the family
Unless there are some incredible tensions in your family, eating breakfast with your family is a great stress killer! So even though this would mean you waking up earlier than usual, try to make it a habit: eat your breakfast with the family and prepare for a new day together with the loved ones!
2. Ignore your critics
Some people critic you just because they like to do so and this usually hurts your feelings and raise your stress levels. Ignore the critics – if you get upset whenever some dude gives you a critique, stress gets accumulated until it reaches huge values. So it would be best to breathe three times when somebody offers you a critique and think if there is a real reason behind that. If not, simply ignore it and enjoy the day!
3. Do some sports!
Whenever stress levels start to rise, certain types of hormones flood your body preparing it for some extra effort. However, it’s an effort you will not go through, and that’s where sports come into play: if you go jogging or simply do some aerobics, you will help your body consume the hormones and you will feel more relaxed. And I’m not even starting to talk about the ton of other reasons doing some sports is good for your health!
4. Have a good night’s sleep
One of the best ways to eliminate stress is sleeping: as long as it’s a true rest you’re getting! So make sure that when you sleep there is complete silence in the room, that the bed is comfortable and the room smells nice. Yes, as strange as it might sound, a room that smells like something you like will do wonders for your sleep!
5. Don’t be afraid to say “no”
If you try to be the good person and please everybody you will end up like a volcano filled with stress, especially if some of the things you agree to do are accepted just because you are afraid or find it too difficult to say “no”. But just try hard and say that word – you will see that it’s not that hard!
6. Sex is a cure
Being single or sexually inactive will not help you win the battle against stress because one of the most effective ways of removing stress is… having sex! However, avoid doing that robotically and just because it’s something that has to be done: if you’re not completely enjoying it, you’ll probably become ever more stressed, so be careful! You don’t want that to happen!
7. Schedule 30 minutes per day just for yourself
Finally, you should make sure that daily, for 30 minutes (at least), you completely forget about every problem and every task you have to do and simply care about yourself. Take a break from everything, turn off the cell phone and relax: listen to some music, browse the internet, eat a chocolate bar… anything that makes you feel relaxed should be done during this half an hour. You’ll see it pays!
