Chauncey Billups Shines As Nuggets Blow Hornets Away

With Carmelo Anthony in a great shape, nobody expected that the first Playoffs clash between the Denver Nuggets and the New Orleans Hornets would be dominated by Chauncey Billups. And what a domination that was!

Billups scored 36 points and led Denver to a to a 113-84 victory, the second biggest victory in the team’s playoff performance (the 1984 win of 141-111 against San Antonio).

“What Chauncey did wasn’t a surprise. He’s done it throughout his career. He’s very good at making that shot and he made a lot of them tonight,” the Hornets’ James Posey said.

I’m wondering what Chris Paul thinks after this victory and how will Carmelo Anthony react: will he be the main threat in the next playoff match or it will still be the surprise Chauncey Billups who will shine again and maybe manage to sink more than eight three pointers, as he did in this match? We’ll see that as soon as it happens.
