David Obey is considered as the most influential Chairman of the House Appropriations Committee. But now, people are anticipating for the upcoming announcement if he would really call it quits or if David Obey would still seek for a re-election this 2010. David Obey became part of the tough and dirty politics in 1969. But because of his fierce character, there are no such serious challenges for him not until the mid 80’s. David Obey had his struggles in the committee thanks to Sean Duffy, a well known Republican. The latter also used to be a part of the Real World from MTV and currently working as the District Attorney for Wisconsin’s Ashland County.

If this would push through, Representative David Obey isn’t the first chairman of a House Committee to leave this cycle. Before the year 2009 ended, Chairman of the House Committee on Science and Technology Bart Gordon also announced that he is no longer interested to seek re-election.

In the latest update about David Obey leaving the House Committee, Ken Spain, the Director of NRCC Communications said that David Obey is currently facing a tough phase in his life. It just seems ironic that the David Obey who is known for his furious behavior is not going out of the house like a whimp.
