eminem-rappingI would’ve believed even an unbelievable source if they told me that Eminem is an addict, and I would’ve accepted almost any substance on earth, but I would have never thought that Eminem was addicted to… pain pills! But that’s all a thing of the past, since now he’s clean and found a new but safe drug: rapping!

However, it was not always good for Slim Shady, as people usually call Eminem: the white rapper was reportedly addicted to Vicodin, Ambien, and Valium and also loved methadone (which is used to fight heroin addiction, but is also addictive). Actually, rumor has it that once, Eminem took so much Methadone that it was the equivalent of four bags of heroine. So, yes, last years weren’t the safest for the rapper.

However, now he’s saying to People.com that it’s all a thing of the past: “The numbers got so high, I don’t even know what I was taking. It never once hit me that drug addiction runs in my family. Now that I understand that I’m an addict, I definitely have compassion for my mother. I get it,” he says. “I’m back. Rap was my drug. It used to get me high and then it stopped getting me high. Then I had to resort to other things to make me feel that … now rap’s getting me high again.” Let’s hope that indeed rap is everything he’s “taking” now!

Eminem’s next album, Relapse, will hit stores on May 19, but I do believe that Slim Shady lost his inspiration…
