music-mixing-girlThis is the official announcement of Everything Mixed, the latest blog on the internet (or at least it was that way for half a second). I have decided to create this type of blog – a general, mixed and not heavily promoted one, for two reasons: first of all (and the saddest reason) because I don’t have the needed time to promote it accordingly and second – because I have decided against niche blogging, after spending quite a few trips on niche blogging. Heh.

The thing is that, unlike my initial desire, it is very likely that I will not earn a living from blogging – at least not as a self-employed individual: the competition is tough, my budget for advertising is zero, my general knowledge of the “social marketing” aspect as well as other more technical issues are not perfect – nor time is enough; so all these reasons, sum up to prove one sad thing, one sad thing that probably 95% of the bloggers will find out: getting rich with a blog is impossible. Heck, even earning a decent living with it is tough!

So I decided against “following the gold hunt” which could be described as niche-blogging and instead I will write only about stuff I like. That’s what actually the core of blogging means, that’s actually the reason that stood behind my first blog (which died a slow death a long time ago) and that’s why I want to do now. I will get a bit of everything and mix it together in a random blog in which sexy ladies and pictures of barely clothed girls will probably top the lists, but there will also be movie reviews, news from various other niches and tips and tricks from my personal experience as a blogger. And since this will most likely fail traffic-wise and income-wise, I would like it to be a pleasant fail. And a never-ending one: who would decide to put an end to a blog about what he or she likes the most? I wouldn’t. And that’s exactly why I have faith in EverythingMixed.

And yes, although it doesn’t seem like it, I have a pretty good idea about what I’m doing right now (and an even better one about how “wrong” the ‘successful’ bloggers would say I’m doing it). I do have lots of experience – from managing and writing in several free blogs on blogger (that’s where I started), to writing and working for a long time for one of the biggest blogs in the world (in the Top 400, according to Alexa) and to eventually going independent with a few websites – of which MovieVeritas is the most recent and an ultimate failure for several reasons (one of which is bad luck) and actually the reason behind the decision of starting this “everything mixed” kind of blog. I don’t have time for niche research, I don’t have time for spending hours of my time doing stuff I rather wouldn’t, I am sick of writing thinking at what others might like to hear. This website – or blog – or whatever you wish to call it; this will be my little child now. The site I always wanted but never created because I knew one thing: it would not work. Now I don’t care. I do it for me, for developing my writing, for keeping together things I like and things I learn. So yes, this makes it my best project in years!
