Find Out if Your Computer Is Windows 7 Ready

windows7-screenloadingYou probably heard about this already: Microsoft is planning to revolutionize the world of operating systems by releasing Windows 7, the latest and, according to them, best OS ever. But you might be wondering if your computer has the necessary power to run Windows 7 without problems?

Beta versions of Windows 7 were released earlier this year and people tested them (I wasn’t among the curious people, but I’m a traditionalist by definition) and the general consensus was that if you have Windows XP or Windows Vista running on your system, Windows 7 will also run smoothly. However, if you want to double check just to make sure that information is correct, Microsoft themselves have offered a tool that allows anybody to check if their computer can run Windows 7.

Fully named Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor Beta, the tool consists in a small download that can be downloaded from Microsoft’s official page (click to go there) and, by following the easy instructions posted there, you will have the confirmation that Windows 7 will be indeed able to run on your system. Below is the tool’s entire and official description:

Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor scans your PC’s system, programs and devices to check if it’s able to run Windows 7. After a few minutes, the report will let you know if your PC meets the system requirements, if there are any known compatibility issues with your programs and devices, and will also provide guidance on your upgrade options to Windows 7.

Now, share with the Everything Mixed readers: are you willing to switch to Windows 7 as soon as it is launched or you’re still going to use your current operating system?
