If you wondered and always wanted to launch your own, personal radio station online but never knew how to do it, the wait is over! I have a tutorial for you giving the step by step information on how to launch your own radio station online. Check it out below and do your best to be… the best!

1. You first need to download three free programs: Winamp, Shoutcast server and the Shoutcast plugin.
2. After you install these programs, you have to set up some things:
- first, from the folder you have installed Shoutcast Server to, open sc_serv.exe
- on the upper part of the new window select “Edit Config” and search for the following text: “Password=” There you should type in the password for your radio station (or leave blank for none)
-. save the settings and accept to restart the server. Then, select the option “Kill server”.
3. Launch sc_serv.exe once more and leave it running.
4. Launch WinAmp and press Ctrl + P, and in the new window go to the DSP/Effects tab
5. Select Nullsoft SHOUTcast Source DSP and click on “Configure active plugin”.
6. In the new window click on the Encoder and make the following changes: select Encoder 2, and MP3 Encoder (at the encoder type). Put your estimated internet speed in the Enchoder Settings tab.
7. Click on the “Output” option and select Output 2, then Connection and type in the password field the password you have previously set up. Check the Encoder 2 also.
8. Click on the Yellowpages button, check the Make this server public and Enable Title Updates.
9. Finally, click on “Connect” and you’re ready to broadcast your own online music station!

For other people to be able to connect and listen to your radio station, you must find out your IP and add the :8000 extension to its tail. That is the address you have to send to your friends so they can listen to your recently created radio station. But keep it safe and legal!
