Hugh Hefner Plans to Sell Playboy
- With 0 comments
Who would’ve thought that one of the best known people on the planet is willing to sell the one thing that made him famous, controversial, filthy rich and helped him score some of the most beautiful chicks on the planet? I sure find it hard to believe!
But it is true, as the New York Post reports: Hugh Hefner wishes to sell Playboy for the “mere” sum of $300 million. Even stranger, for some of us, might seem the fact that even this price might be high for a potential buyer. Why? Well… because Playboy is no longer a money making machine and hot chicks can be found via other means, too…
The empire, founded back in 1953, recorded a loss of $13.7 million in the past quarter only, compared to $4 million in the previous year. In other words, the costs are too high and the people no longer invest as much in the magazine, since they have so many other options online, most of them free.
However, other reports suggest that even in such circumstances, Hugh Hefner wouldn’t like to sell his “child” – or that it would cost too much to make him give away the 70% he still holds in the Playboy empire. What will happen? Probably time will tell. Either way, it’s clear that the bunny isn’t having its best time now…
