A person that is clearly not popular within the gay community is Carrie Prejean, well known as Miss California, who announced that she will be working together with the National Organization for Marriage on a campaign opposing gay marriage. It was obvious from the Miss USA contest that Carrie had strong beliefs against gay marriage, but for her to go that far… nobody expected.

She said on NBC’s Today show: “”I am just here to protect marriage. The National Organization for Marriage basically just respects marriages and people who support it. I am here to protect traditional marriage.”

About the moment when she stated during Miss USA that she is against gay marriage, she said: “I was attacked for giving my own opinion on stage. I am going to do whatever it takes to protect marriage,” and added that marriage “is something that is very dear to my heart, and I am just here to protect it. That’s all I am here to do.”

One thing is absolutely clear, though: she’s all for protection, so straight dudes, go for it! You’ll never have to pay for unwanted child support. Oh… wait… you’d probably have to marry Miss Prejean before further debating about the “protection” she loves so much.
