If you were planning to climb to the top of the highest peak in the world, you should put that on hold for a little while: a Nepal-based phone company plans to set up phone towers to cover Mount Everest, so you can take a picture of yourself on that highest peak and send it as an MMS worldwide.
The company – Nepal Telecom by its name – will have the highest antenna placed at 5160 meters above sea level (or five kilometers up) and it will all start working soon, in mid-June, supporting both GSM and CDMA. Only 3,000 calls at one time can be handled, but I doubt that will ever be a problem, right?
