The host that became part of the two longest running shows in television recently died. Art Linkletter is a popular figure in the industry thanks to shows called House Party and People Are Funny which were aired during the 1950’s and 60’s. At the age of 97, Art Linkletter died while he was at his home in Bel Air of Los Angeles.
The death of Art Linkletter was confirmed by his son-in-law, Art Hershey.
During his early years working as a local radio announcer, Art Linkletter also worked as a roving broadcaster during the state fairs. At the same time, Art Linkletter showed talent in turning subjects into humorous skits and even ingratiating himself as well.
Adults were entertained with Art Linkletter and so does the kids. One of the segments in the House Party lets the host become a figure in the eyes of the children too. He would always have a Q&A session with the kids which resulted to the publication of his book entitled Kids Say the Darnest Things.
The intellectuals and critics hate him but the whole America loved him. He can reach out to the masses with his wit, friendliness, and wholesomeness which lead to his upbeat appeal.
If you answer yes, one blogger actually thinks otherwise. Lyndsey Parker said that although judges thought that the AI9 would be a “female dominated season” because of the promising voices and talents of the girl contestants, there is a big chance that Crystal Bowersox would not win this season.
We all know that the success of the contestants in AI depends on the votes made by the viewers. There are more and more teenage girls and others who are watching the said show compared to the number of men who follow the said singing contests. This is actually the main reason why the male contestants have a big advantage in American Idol.
Rather than voting because they think that the voice of the contestant deserves the right to be in the limelight, the audience places their votes depending on who gives their hormones the rush. The male American Idol followers on the other hand may be rooting for a female contestant like Crystal Bowersox. Unfortunately, they don’t care about voting or just too lazy to put their fingers on the keypads of their mobile phones and vote.
Now, unless a group of man would stand and form their Crystal Bowersox fan club, then the female AI 9 contestant would have the chance to be like Jordin Sparks or Carrie Underwood.
Kwame Kilpatrick, the former mayor of Detroit, got out of the courtroom with his hands in cuffs today. Judge David Groner recently sentenced Kwame Kilpatrick for five years behind the bar.
Kwame Kilpatrick already pleaded guilty last 2008 with charges of obstruction of justice. After he resigned as the mayor of Detroit he spent 99 days at the jail. At the same time, he also gave up his license as a lawyer, gave the city back its $1 million and swore not to enter politics for the next five years.
However, Kwame Kilpatrick violated one of these terms. Rather than giving the full amount of $1 million, he only gave a partial payment. Kwame Kilpatrick said that the salary he gets from the Compuware Corp., located in Texas, decreased.
At the same time, during the several restitution hearings regarding the collection of money that the former mayor owed the city, he failed to give detailed reports about his assets. Kwame Kilpatrick also failed to report the other conditions that are part of his probation.
The prosecutors present in every hearing of Kwame Kilpatrick also said that he had been lying after he got out of jail. They also said that Kilpatrick has the ability to pay more than the partial amount and he had been hiding all his assets intentionally.
One of the most popular columnists today is Walter E. Williams. He has been very outspoken lately regarding the immigration issues in United States. The word-crafty Walter E. Williams expressed his sentiments regarding the immigration by quoting the poem written by Emma Lazarus which can be read at the base of the American icon, the Statue of Liberty.
“Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free.”
In his statement, Walter E. Williams asked who really has the right to be living in America and how can one get the right to stay in the said country? He was also asking who has the privilege to set the conditions to say that a person is allowed to be in America.
Many illegal immigrants from Mexico have been very honest, law-abiding, and hardworking. However, despite all their sufferings in United States, living in the country without the right papers is still considered as a crime.
With this type of crime, Walter E. Williams asked if amnesty can be done to those who were against the law. Those who support amnesty wish that the illegal immigrants could also get this.
With about 10 to 20 million of illegal immigrants lurking all over United States, how can you actually deport all of them without causing any commotion with the rest of the unlawful immigrant population?
Walter E. Williams’ suggested that the immigration law should be stricter just like in the state of Arizona. Moreover, United States must also change its current unwieldy laws about immigration so that others can live in the country legally.
After attending the court, the legal battle for Lindsay Lohan continues as she was ordered to wear an alcohol-detecting ankle bracelet. Also known as the SCRAMx, the ankle bracelet was fitted at the actress’s ankle before she left the L.A. County Courthouse regarding her DUI charges. Although Lindsay Lohan agreed to wear the SCRAMx ankle bracelet that would monitor if she’s been drinking, she and her lawyer first argued with the judge saying that it might cause delays to her scheduled movie filming.
Some people think that this could be the best thing for Lindsay Lohan. Rather than being in jail, she just has to resist the urge to drink alcoholic beverages. The SCRAMx bracelet will be monitoring Lohan every thirty minutes, checking if there are any traces of alcohol. If Lindsay still would still insist on being drunk, she might end up the next morning in jail. The alcohol monitoring bracelet on Lohan’s ankle would remain until July 6, which is her next date with the court.
And with the introduction of the SCRAMx bracelet, parents are now wondering if they too can purchase the same gadget for their teens. Unfortunately (thankfully – on the part of the teens), the SCRAMx is not yet distributed in the public market.

The picture actually has her consent. In fact, it was Julie Bowen who uploaded the said picture wherein she was breastfeeding, not one, but both of her twins. What sets Julie Bowen’s breastfeeding photo apart from the other mothers is that she was breastfeeding her twins AT THE SAME TIME!
It was during her appearance at the George Lopez Tonight when Julie Bowen shared this crazy photo at the late night talk show. She really isn’t afraid to make fun of herself and definitely a great way to fight that post-partum depression! Julie Bowen said that nursing her twins is her way to lose all those baby weight. She even called her twins as her personal “liposuction machines” that can even suck all the fat from her.
However, some people think that Lopez and Bowen should not be displayed to the picture to the public. This should be kept in discreet since these are considered as private shots.
Just my POV, there is nothing porn-ish about the picture. After all, Julie Bowen’s breastfeeding photo can be an excellent tool to promote nursing and let other mothers know the benefits of breastfeeding including weight loss. What do you think?
