Chitika Goes for Misleading Advertising?

For the past few days, my eyes have been bombarded with Chitika ads (on Google AdSense, which is even funnier imho), where they use the image of Darren Rowse, one of the best known ProBloggers, in which he says: “Chitika is my No. 2 source of revenue“. Here’s the proof from a random internet website:

Leaving aside the fact that any company should brag about being the first, not the second, I was pretty surprised to find out today that actually Chitika is far from the No. 2 source of revenue for Darren Rowse who just posted a monthly update on his April earnings over at ProBlogger. Check out the screenshot of his revenue split below:

Now, no matter how you put it, Chitika is certainly far from No. 2 for Darren Rowse, who admits that revenue from that company is somewhere at 6% of his total revenue, at place number 6. I am sure that the amount of money, even at number 6, is pretty impressive, but that was not the point and the Google Adsense ads are misleading.

It is true that Google Adsense itself has no fault on the matter and probably Chitika was indeed Rowse’s second revenue stream back when the ads were created, but right now it is obvious that things have changed. Drastically.

Please note: I am not telling you not to use Chitika. I have used their services and, even though the revenue generated by their units was not big for me, they paid on time and I never had any problems using their services.

Faisal Shahzad: Police Primary Suspect on Time Square Car-Bomb Attack

The authorities already caught Faisal Shahzad which they consider as the primary suspect for the car-bomb attack in Times Square, New York last Saturday. Faisal Shahzad already admitted that he was responsible for the attack. However, Faisal Shahzad did not confess if there are other groups that supported this act. He stood by his word, saying that he worked alone.

It was only last April 2009 when Faisal Shahzad became a US citizen through naturalization. Born in Pakistan, the 30-year old Faisal Shahzad visited United States last year. He rented a house that is located in a middle-class neighborhood within Karachi.

According to the media reports, Faisal Shahzad has just returned from his trip to Peshawar which last for five months. Faisal Shahzad went to Peshawar, an area nearby a region where the militants of Islam were fighting against government forces.

Prior to the capture of Faisal Shahzad, the Pakistani Talibans already said that the attempted attack recently was their work. And since Faisal Shahzad was born in Pakistan and still considered as a Pakistani despite his US citizenship, the claims made by the Pakistani Talibans may be true.

Thankfully, before Faisal Shahzad was able to board the flight going to Dubai, the officials caught him at the John F Kennedy Airport in New York.

Insight Cable Gets Outage from Customers

After a long day at work for some and the beginning of the day for others, the customers of Insight Communications Inc. in Louisville were surprised to see that their televisions only show frozen images in every channel that they surf.

The reason for this Insight cable outage is the faulty equipment located at company’s operations hub in Louisville. According to Jason Keller, the director of public affairs of the New York-based cable provider, the equipment just had glitches which affected the service in Louisville. However, the Insight cable problem did not just affected Louisville alone. Insight cable customers who are located in Lexington, Kentucky as well as Northern part of Kentucky also felt the glitch at the same time. They did not just saw the frozen images but lost a couple of channels too.

Jason Keller also mentioned in the release that the service will be restored in just a couple of hours. They already found the problem and their technicians are already working on it so that the Insight cable will be up and running again.

When asked, Keller did not give even the estimate number of affected clients that have been ranting because of the outage. But one thing is for sure. The affected customers are in “thousands”.

Poor Phillies Fan Tasered by the Cops

Last night, a Phillies fan was tasered after he went to the field while the rest of the crowd was enjoying the game between Phillies and Cardinals.

The authorities are now actually reviewing if the case of Phillies fan tasered was too much. Do you think they used the appropriate force for the 17-year old fan?

The Phillies fan tasered incident happened during the latter part of the game. The Cardinals that time were still preparing to bat and the Phillies on the other hand were already prepped up on the field. The game was hosted at the Citizens Bank Park.

While both teams were busy, the male fan wearing khaki shorts and his red T-shirt that screams how proud of a Phillies fan he is suddenly ran around the outfield. While the rest of the crowd saw his Phillies National League Champions shirt, the Phillies fan was waving his white towel as he tries to get away from the security.

It was then the Phillies fan was tasered by one of the uniformed cops. It was a sure hit that the tasered Phillies fan went down as his face first hits the ground.

During the event of arresting the Phillies fan tasered, most of the Phillies players were seen hiding their faces using their gloves. Well, probably they find it hilarious and they can’t stop laughing behind it to prevent the critics and the like from reading their reactions.
