Recently, I have heard that there’s quite a buzz surrounding the appearance on our computers of a file named Promotion_ENG_Pro.ini. Apparently, there are no reasons for the appearance of the file and if you use a text editor to check it out, you will see the following:
[GENERAL]
NSISPROMOTION_VERSION=1000
MAX_PROMOTION_COUNT = 1
UI_LANGUAGE = 437
[PROMOTION_ASK]
ACTIVE=1
Many believed that it’s either a computer virus spreading and preparing to take over the world, but the truth is different: this Promotion_ENG_Pro.ini is a file created by video player Gom Player, who tries to save that file whenever you play a file aka video.
In order to get rid of this annoying bugger, all you have to do is go to C:\Program Files\GRETECH\GomPlayer (or wherever you have the player installed) and either delete the file setting.ini or edit it and delete the URLs (web addresses) there. Here you go! Promotion_ENG_Pro.ini problem solved!
