Setting the Oil Spill on Fire can be an Option

Recently, there had been an accident that happened at the Gulf of Mexico which resulted to a messy and hazardous oil spill. Up to date, authorities can’t seem to prevent the diffusion of the oil in the bodies of water. Because of the oil spill in Gulf of Mexico, the Coast Guard is now thinking of various plans that they can execute in order to limit the damage of the said marine accident.

Apparently, they were considering to set the oil spill in Gulf of Mexico in fire. This is to keep the oil spill in its place as much as possible. They assume that setting the oil spill on fire would stop the oil from reaching the shores.

The Deepwater Horizon was carrying thousands of oil barrel before it sank due to explosion last April 20. Until now, crews still find it impossible to stop the oil spill from spreading. The accident happened just 50 miles away from the coast of Louisiana. Other than trying to stop the oil spill, the Coast Guard were still looking for the 11 missing workers although the think that these all already died during the explosion or sank with the Deepwater Horizon as well. The reason for the explosion is yet to be discovered.
