According to the police reports, the Old Navy shooting in Chicago involved two casualties. A man went inside the store with a gun and shot his girlfriend. Afterwards, he shot himself while inside the store premises as well.
Eugene Williams, the Chief of Patrol said that they had officers patrolling near the area before the Old Navy shooting happened. It was about 11 in the morning when the employees started to ran out of the Old Navy store. From them, the police knew that shots were already fired inside.
By the time that the officials went inside the store, they went to the basement and found two people. Both of them were suffering from gunshot wounds that moment. Eugene Williams also said that the injured persons in the Old Navy shooting are already in their 20’s. The basement by the way is a restricted area in the Old Navy branch. Only employees were allowed to enter the shooting site. Although the relationship between the two casualties was not clear, authorities believe that it was the male who is considered as the offender.
They are still investigating on how the man went inside the store with a gun, without being detected. Hopefully, the branch have surveillance cameras that would help the investigation in the Old Navy shooting incident.
