As I said before, I love, love, love, dream catchers. I own a few, in more forms than what you are used to, a phone case and a tattoo, beside your usual. I also made one and wrote a tutorial for it here. I’m always happy to find new ideas for original dream catchers, and I’m really itching to make some myself. Most of them look like they’re a piece of cake to make, but I’m sore the pro have a few secrets down their sleeves.
The dream catchers originate from Ojibwe people, and their ancient legends. “Storytellers speak of the Spider Woman, known as Asibikaashi; she took care of the children and the people on the land. Eventually, the Ojibwe Nation spread to the corners of North America and it became difficult for Asibikaashi to reach all the children. So the mothers and grandmothers would weave magical webs for the children, using willow hoops and sinew, or cordage made from plants. The dreamcatchers would filter out all bad dreams and only allow good thoughts to enter our mind. Once the sun rises, all bad dreams just disappear.” – according to Wikipedia.
The good thing about making your own dream catcher is that you don’t always need a circle to make it, they can get caught in anything as long as you believe in them, your bad dreams will vanish. And you don’t need feathers either, to make the long tails, just add a few beads and colorful ribbons and it’s gonna look fabulous. So here are some unusual dream catchers, or just original ideas on how to make them, and some tutorials too. If you like dream catchers as much as I do, you’ll enjoy these ones.

This looks neat and easy to make, if you have what you need. Can’t wait to try it myself.

Now THIS is something that looks easy, but I think it will be a bit hard
to make a web on it. I just have to try it to test my theory.
3. Doily Dream Catcher
This is as easy as it could get if you have a doily. And here you have a tutorial on how to do it.
4. Heart Dream Catcher
This would’ve worked great as a Valentine’s Day gift. And here are the steps you need to follow to make one.

7. Mobile Dream Catcher

This would be perfect for kids rooms, but to be honest I would love one
in my room too. And I love the fact that you can hang it over your bed
and dreams will really catch into it.
8. Wreath Dream Catcher

A very stylish wreath and it’s even cooler because it is good at
catching dreams too. Also, it is great if you want to gift it to
someone.
9. Deer Antler Dream Catcher

This sure is an unique dream catcher. You don’t usually have deer
antlers just laying around, but I’m sure you can work this with a tree
branch as well, and I bet it will look as good as this one.
10. Owl Dream Catcher

Ok, this is pretty cool. I love everything about this. Can’t wait to try
and make one on my own, and I’ll let you know how it turns out.

This unique diamond dream catcher also has a gem stone in the middle,
and if you choose it wisely it can have healing or relaxation powers,
and they’re gonna be awesome for your home and sleep.
12. Easy Dream Catcher
With this one you don’t even need to have feathers, you can just paint
some and cut them from cardboard and you’ll have any color you want for
your Dream catcher. Here is how to make one.
These got me all excited to make some dream catchers. So, as soon as I get some hoops or even tree branches, I’ll see what I can make with the feathers I bought last time I went for crafting supplies. You can always show us what you’re making or ask us for advice. You can also subscribe to our website to get these helpful articles as soon as I write them. Enjoy!
