Once you become a celebrity – and a pretty well known one – you probably start wondering how far can you get just by saying who you are and what you’d like to do. Shaquille O’Neal, the beloved and famous NBA player decided to see just how big he really is (no pun intended!) and if he would be allowed to enter the White House and visit President Obama without an appointment.
Shaq said about his plan:
Check this out, I got on a nice suit, I’m in D.C. paying a visit, I jump out of a cab in front of the White House, I don’t use none of my political or law enforcement connections. If I go to the gate and say, ‘Hey, I’m in town, I would like to see the President,’ do I get in, or do I not get in?
I doubt many people believed him, but the man really went on to pull this crazy stunt and see, once and for all, just how far can a celebrity (or, better said, a superstar) get.
Unfortunately for him and the other big names in the world – and fortunately for the safeness of the Earth – he was not allowed to enter. The proof comes from Shaq’s own Twitter account (via Yahoo News), in which he only posted the sad line:
The white house wouldn’t let me in, whyyyyyyyyyyy
I think it’s pretty obvious and it all makes sense. Glad that, thanks to Shaquille O’Neal we received confirmation.
And don’t worry, Shaq! We all still love you, even though the special service didn’t let you in uninvited! Maybe you will someday join the forces and you will be able to enter the White House whenever you feel like doing it.
