Best Keurig Coffee Makers

There are just generally small differences between our top five – from design to features – and we’ll outline them all below.

So read on to find out in depth buying guides for all the models listed above and decide what’s the best Keurig Coffee Maker for you.

1. Keurig K-Elite Maker – Editor’s Choice

This is our favorite and top recommendation for all the right reasons, as it is THE Keurig Coffee Machine.

It has a ton of features – some of which you might not even know you need until you give it a try. Our favorite? The strong brew button that improves the flavor and the bold taste of the coffee. Perfect way to start the day!

But if you prefer a cold drink for a hot summer’s day, the Keurig K-Elite Maker can do that as well – the only on our list with this much appreciated feature, actually!

The coffee maker also has a large reservoir (75 oz) that allows you to prepare around 8 cups before it needs a refill. And since it’s a removable reservoir, filling it up again is as fast as possible.

You can get your favorite coffee in various sizes: 4, 6, 8, 10, 12oz and you can adjust the temperature of the water even further, with 5 different temperature settings.

And, if you want to, you can use it to get hot water almost instantly for making that perfect tea you were dreaming of!

In terms of looks and ease of use, it also scores really high. The removable drip tray is a nice bonus as you can fit a travel mug directly, while the coffee maker itself is light and easily portable – not that you’ll be carrying it around too much, though.

It’s not extremely compact at 9.9″ but not huge either. It does need the size for holding up all that water and it’s still not huge. Plus, it looks so good that there’s no reason for you to hide it.

The only disadvantage it has – if we really want to mention something – is the fact that it’s a single brew, so you’re preparing coffees one cup at a time. But since it needs so little time to get one ready, it’s really not a problem!

All in all, this is by far our favorite based on all the features it has, as well as its design. So unless you want something very compact (we have that as well to recommend!), this is the best Keurig Coffee Maker for the money!

2. Keurig K-Select

There are not a ton of differences between our top two Keurig coffee machines, but the second placed is not as big as the #1.

This means that it only has a capacity of 52 oz of water, further meaning that you can get around 5 coffees from it before it needs a refill. It also has only 4 size options: 6, 8, 10 and 12, ditching the smallest option that the Elite offers.

A nice touch – perfect for the eco lovers and those who want to try non K-Cup flavors, is the fact that it offers support for the universal reusable coffee filter.

But apart from that, you get everything you’d want from a Keurig Coffee Maker at a really good price. Have in mind that it doesn’t have the iced coffee option – so if that’s a must for you, get the Elite instead.

But if you want a slightly smaller coffee maker that also offers the strong brew option and looks good as well – all while spending a little less on getting it, this is the machine you need.

3. Keurig K-Mini Plus

While the K-Mini Plus is usually described as the perfect Keurig machine for traveling, I really doubt that many people actually put it in their backpack before going on vacation.

Still, thanks to its tiny size, it’s perfect if you don’t have a lot of counter space available. It’s actually just 4.5″ wide, which is half the size of the Elite!

And since it’s the “Plus” version (there’s a basic one available with less features), it also comes with a removable water reservoir, pad storage for up to 9 K-Cups and the much appreciated strong brew button. This is why you want the Plus, and not the regular!

Being a mini coffee maker, it means that it doesn’t offer a ton of space for holding water.

It has a maximum capacity of 12 oz, which means at most two coffees, but it’s safe to consider that you have to refill it each time. Which is, to be honest, not the most difficult task in the world!

Due to its size and good looks, but also the low price, the K-Mini Plus is more than just a coffee maker for travelers (really, I don’t know anybody who travels with their Keurig coffee maker in the luggage!), but more of the machine you need if you don’t have a ton of space. I just like it like that!

4. Keurig K-Classic

The classic model is the cheapest you can get – and still surprisingly good, even though it lacks some of the features of the other models on this list, mainly the Strong Brew button.

It’s also a bit larger than most and not as beautiful, but that retro design works well depending on how you decorate your kitchen. Plus, for such a low price, you can forgive it for not being the slickest looking one of the bunch.

What matters the most is what it offers in terms of coffee making – and in this area it doesn’t disappoint.

It has a decently sized reservoir of 48 oz (also removable), while allowing you to select one of three most common cup sizes – 6, 8 and 10 oz.

In the end, the truth is that all the coffee makers on the list fundamentally perform the same basic functions and you might not need all the bells and whistles that the others offer.

That’s fine – and you have this article to know what to expect and decide what you need or not.

But all in all, the Classic Keurig Coffee Maker is perfect if you have a bit more storage space and you don’t need all the other fancy bells and whistles.

5. Keurig K155 Office Pro

For our final recommendation, we go to the other extreme: while the Classic model has the most basic features, the K155 Office Pro goes the other way around.

With a really elegant design, it offers a lot of features that will make the tech lovers really happy. For starters, it has a full touch-screen interface, because touching buttons is so last decade (I’m mostly joking here, of course!)

Actually created for office environments, as the name suggests – or for large families or big coffee lovers, it has a very large reservoir of 90oz and can prepare coffees in four sizes: 4, 6, 8 and 10 oz.

The only potential problem it has is that it’s not compatible with the My K-Cup Universal Reusable Filter, which is a real shame in my opinion. But apparently, you can’t have all the features you want in one machine, so you have to pick the best for your needs.

Have in mind that this is also the widest of all our recommended products – mostly because of that removable water reservoir. No complaints though since it needs refilling so rarely!

All in all, we can say that this is the coffee maker that was styled to impress and works just as well in fancy offices or fancy kitchens.

I personally prefer my buttons because I’m old school like that, but it’s good to know that there are solid alternatives for those who need them.

Now that we have the details listed above – and hopefully everything you need in order to decide what’s the best Keurig Coffee Maker for you, we’ll move on to answering some additional questions that you might have.

Why should you buy a Keurig Coffee Maker?

The answer to this question varies a lot from person to person. The truth is that people have lived for a long time without these machines, but at the same time one cannot deny how insanely useful they are.

They brew the perfect coffee in just minutes and with over 500 flavors to choose from, it’s really the easiest way for a person to enjoy really high quality coffee and even have all sorts of various flavors on hand without spending a fortune.

An important thing to have in mind is that all these machines can deliver a single coffee at a time.

It’s not a problem if you have to prepare 1-3 coffees in the morning, but the more cups you need, the faster you’ll start to get frustrated.

Even though most of these machines are optimized for speed and brew your coffee in less than a minute, the time does add up – as well as potential needs for refills and changing the pods themselves. But for most families, this isn’t even an issue!

The biggest potential issue here is the fact that nature lovers are starting to criticize the K Cups for harming the environment.

But this is not really Keurig’s fault, but the critics themselves: the K-Cups can be recycled if you separate the plastic from the aluminum and organic material – but most people don’t because they are lazy.

But saving our planet is not an easy task, so we can still do it if we invest a bit of time – and still enjoy the amazing taste of a Keurig coffee.

Plus, with the reusable My K-Cup filters, things are now easier than ever to reduce the impact over the environment. My two cents!

But if you decide against a Keurig, I still have you covered. I wrote an article detailing the best Keurig Coffee Maker alternatives – make sure to check it out.

How to choose the best Keurig Coffee Maker for you

As I kept saying during my review of the machines above, all of them do the same basic things, the main differences being in style, reservoir capacity and sometimes extra features.

While getting our top recommendation is definitely a good start as you get the most features for your money, if you don’t want to risk spending extra for things you won’t actually use or need, here are the most important things to look at when deciding:

1. Cup size

While all these coffee makers offer the basic cup sizes – 6, 8 and 10 oz, if you know that you prefer a different size – like a smaller 4 oz cup or a large 12 oz one – you should look for a model that offers this particular cup size.

2. Extra features / options

These are probably the most important things and the biggest deal breakers or makers. Look mainly for these features (if you need them):

  • the strong brew option
  • setting the temperature of the coffee (warmer or colder or maybe iced coffee options)
  • a removable reservoir (this is usually useful)
  • the speed of brewing
  • reminders for maintenance / cleaning and energy saving modes

3. Machine’s size (water tank too!)

Finally, the counter space that they take is extremely important: no need in getting that fancy K155 Office Pro if you don’t have where to put it!

It’s not just the size of the machine itself that you have to look at, but also that of the water reservoir: the larger, the better in most cases since it needs to be refilled less often.

But smaller reservoirs generally mean smaller sizes, so it’s up for you to find the perfect combination!

And now that you know all these good things, why not learn how to make an amazing white coffee right now?

Conclusion

All in all, we are really happy with the coffees made by the Keurig machines and we would go as far as saying that for the general user, randomly choosing one of the five recommended above would still give them a machine they’d have nothing to complain about.

But you do have all the details that you need in order to make an educated guess, so pick the one you like the most and enjoy your coffees. We’re sure you will!
